These PowerPoint slides were so full of excitement 2 years ago. Now, just past the halfway point of the timeline, all excitement has been rescheduled to 2020.

What Marchionne forgot to mention at the time was that pretty much the entire plan depended on merging with/being acquired by a larger & wealthier automaker that would agree to bankroll the whole thing.
Also, FCA not totally screwing up the 200 & Dart and Americans suddenly deciding to buy a bunch of Fiats would have all helped.

“Dart SRT” what an absolute disaster.

I never realized until now that the Hellcat Grand Cherokee is supposed to introduce the next generation JGC. Not sure how I missed that!

Well, at least it seems Fiat, Alfa, and Maserati are staying on track so far.
Jeep is somewhat on track, somewhat off track. We’ve yet to see an updated Cherokee (which we should have seen a few months ago) or Grand Cherokee (which we should have seen late LAST year), but the new C-SUV, the next generation Compass is somewhat on track, if only a little behind schedule.
At Chrysler, almost all progress has halted. 200 has hit the end of the line, no signs of either the 100 or midsize CUV (wouldn’t be surprised if those have both be cancelled, instead getting both a new Neon (that’s already offered in Mexico) and the new Compass). The T&C became the Pacifica, but it was pretty much on track this whole time, and the 300's future seems uncertain.
Dodge is the most messed up of them all. B-sedan/hatch seems dead on arrival, Dart is simply dead, uncertain if the Journey will be redesigned or given a new nameplate when it’s replacement comes out, Charger and Challenger delayed to beginning of the next decade, Viper is dead...the only thing that could still happen is the Durango, since it seems that we’ll be seeing an update with an SRT version soon.
Given the truck market, there’s no way RAM is gonna deviate from their plan, unless they add another new model to it.
And, on top of that...it seems that FCA has been in talks with NASCAR recently about a possible return to the sport, which could further throw a wrench into their plans, because of costs related to that, which would be sapped from money towards production car development.

We were supposed to get a Chrysler 100 out of that too! Crazy since the 200 was priced at $22,000 while the Dart started at $17,000...guess that should have been a red flag that there was an issue.
SRT Dart and Journey, what a world that would have been.

That 5-year plan was hilariously... uhhh .... “optimistic”.

To add to your observations, Maserati announced they won’t be building an Alfieri or GranTurismo until almost 2020. That Alfa plan was revised to push out two more years from 2018 to 2020 since they were behind. Fiat built the 500x and a body kit for an MX-5 and still doesn’t have any other plans.

So was Marchionne about marrying Barra and hyping up investors with this plan and a Ferrari spin off. But like most men Marchionne didn’t bother to account for a “no.” Hasn’t said a word since...

Can you imagine being on Barra’s end of that conversation? “You want me to do want now?”

For the CEO of a car company, he sure doesn’t seem to like the car business very much.
